Research and Planning: Magazine progress
today I changed the font of the indie in the masthead as i was told it looked a little to clean for the indie genre. i also added arrows which will contain my cover lines as they tie in with the masthead of go.

Research and Planning: double page spread analysis
In this image there is the double page spread from the magazine NME. The author has chosen to use a medium close up of his model on the left hand page, this is to show the facial expression on his face but to also show what he is holding in his hands. This i good way of showing the audience what genre and what type of artist that is portrayed in the image. As this image you can see that he has a plastic glass of beer so could suggest he's at a gig or some kind of outside event or festival. The clothing worn is a very simplistic and toned down essence of style which fits the genre of indie. The Colour scheme of the page is white and orange which is used in the text. The author has used a quote in the middle of the text to break up the text too make it a little less wordy and more appealing to read, he also shows a small image of the model with his band in the bottom corner and playing an instrument. The author also uses a slightly blue tinted background to make a border. The language used in the text is informal as they refer to the model as his first name and the use of punctuation one after each other e.g '?!'
Research and Planning: Genre change
originally i was going to do indie pop hense the name IPCentral but i have opted to just go with indie i think it will be easier to define the conventions of just one genre so i have Chosen the name Indy2Go

Research and Planning: contents page analysis
This is a contents page from the magazine NME. i have chosen this magazine as it has a very strong and laid out view which i will be using. At the top of the page the title 'NME THIS WEEK' is recurring in every issue so this will promote to a long term customer and caught their eye and draw them to pay attention to the contents. The page also sticks to their traditional colour scheme of red, white and black, this makes the colours fit with the genre of rock. But NME isn't just a rock magazine and can be all different genres and have many different artists in it. The lay out of the magazine is very organised and everything has its place, this is fitting with the genre as rock normally has a very laid and and sleek feel to it. The size of the font is good as on the sub -heading is larger to give you some information on what the story is and to notify that is there. The size of the title is good there is a border around it and fits within without being to close or leaving to muck of a gap between anything. The font used on the title is a sans serif font but is easily readable and ties in with the layout of the page very well.
The contents of the actual page is good, the use of a list down the left hand side of the page to give yo an idea of what is in the magazine then on the right hand side specific stories under the sub-headings to give you a little taste of certain subjects. The author also uses a main story in the middle so it isn't just and informative page.

Research and Planning: Double page spread comparison
In this image you can see a double page spread of graham from blur the rock band. the language in which is used is aimed at a more educated and older audience due to the genre. this is because younger people wouldn't know what an orgy and Vicodin is, hopefully.
Whereas in the ed sheeran double page spread from the magazine Q it uses a more laid back usage of the words swag and rapper, which is more associated with my genre of Indie as it is aimed at a younger/student audience with moderate education as there is still some high class use of language.
Research and planning: Double page spread
- Question and Answer Interview
- Top Ten listing
I could not find a example but this would be were the Top 10 english chart songs will be 'advertised' and described with a picture of the artists or album.
- Factual information about the artist
- Festivals and Events

research and planning: masthead designs
These are my masthead designs I wanted to keep the font and colour the same as on my audience interviews the majority of them said they would like to see the masthead flow. the reason i added the one with two different colours is that i will be broadcasting them on social networking site too see what a wide audience would expect from a indie pop magazine.
Research and Planning: Week plan
1. begin production documents
2. produce model head shots
3. series of test shots with evaluation
4. upload production plan
