Research and Planning: Double page spread Story (Q&A) Start

From the background of a more working class background how did you become interested in music?

Well, when i was a young lad growing up in the outskirts of manchester you see the likes of street performers and street artists. So when i was very young that is what i aspired to be or to do. But as i went through school i kept quite, then as i started to mature and become more confident i started to go to lessons and found that i was decent at singing. As i was in these lessons i applied for a street preforming permit.
When i received this permit i thought to all the successful and talented singers which have risen from the streets of Manchester. so ever since then on the streets my love for music grew and look where we are now.

When your first album was released you were only 16 what kind of emotions did you feel?

Yeah  I was 16 but then again i had a lot of support from not just my family but my crew and agent.
The only thing i could really think about was what happens if this just flops and then thats it dream over . So really the main ones were fear, stress and anxiousness but thankfully it was a great success and my fans are all great and I'm looking forward to real ease my second hopefully next year.

Who was your idol?

My idol…If we are going to get deep my mum is my idol,  managing to raise 3 highly misbehaved kids whilst keeping her cool with everything we did to annoy her.But seriously I wouldn't be where I am without her. Then if we are speaking about a music idol it has to be Ed Sheeran, we are both from Manchester, the same style of music and just listen to his voice and thats all you need to know why he is my idol.

Have you thought on how you can move on from your latest success?

Well since my album went platinum I have been thinking about how my career and my life will change.
I've thought maybe the life of an artist is for my for life but i've always dreamt of helping young people in the way of how to become successful in their dreams in music just as i have. When going to my agent and my family with this they fully support my decision not to just join the music world but to help it along and to ensure the continuation of the love and passion which goes into music now'a'days.

In your experience what are the skills and mind set you need to make it in your line of work?

You see in the music business persona is everything, you need to seem mysterious and unpredictable by your fan to keep them guessing on what you are going to do next. Many artists including myself have started with a very small fan base all you need to do is please them and they will be loyal and supportive fans. Also you need to be very determined on your overall goal, but don't set the goal to be unreachable so you stay motivated and set on your music, this also allows you to be more passionate when preforming.

If you were given the choice who would you collaborate with in the future?

As you may know i have great respect for Ed Sheeran and how he made it from the bottom to the top of his profession by doing what he loves and believing in himself. Me and him have a lot in common with our fan base and where we originate from. I also think that Ed's and my selves music is very alike but with our own kink or style of tone. I was actually contacted by calvin harris to be featured in one of his new songs so maybe you with see me and calvin in more music together.
